Husky Safari

Some impressions of the husky safari that took place back in December in the Finnish Lapland. We were strongly advised as drivers, never EVER to let go of the sleigh, and always always to take care that the line the dogs are attached to is fully
stretched. I tried to hold on to the sleigh but some drivers fell off and were taken away by icy winds for long distances, while passenger in sleigh and six dogs were roaming at high speed into the forest totally out of control . It was fun observing these.
Once you slow down *see picture on left where line is getting lose*, the sweet fluffy dogs will start "interacting" with each other. They are extremely friendly with people, but obviously not getting along too well with each other.

By now, as you stopped, they will cross the lines in various directions while fighting with each other, and you end up with a useless bundle of dogs. Then you wait for the guide to come for the de-tangling operation.
..and some huskies have mastered the art of pooping while they run on their front feet. No joke.

I had a dream. Had these two gorgeous companions, and I felt so loved and happy, my feet have lifted off the ground a little:) It was a very good feeling.

I was on my way back home to have lunch the other day, and just as I turned the corner from the studio, towards the black river, in the most severe snow blizzard, I heard some unusual sounds whooshing above my head, so I looked up, and there they were, three morbidly obese and extremely dirty geese, flying above me. It was like something out of Jurasic Park. I don¨t often get such large birds flying above my head. Neverthelss it was a beautiful and peaceful moment, and of course the reaching for the camera would have taken away my observation. So here is it, the moment recreated digitally. And when I say digitally, I still mean painting by hand on a graphic board.

I am often greeted by this cat performing the perfect stretch displaying his full lenght,while on his visits to my house. He is normally just a fur-ball in regular cat positions, so it is quite surprising to see how long he actually is when he performs this act.

Reflexology

It is based on one my sessions in China, in one of the better places where they actually dim the lights and play soothing music during the job. I never understood why the price is double compared to places where they don´t actually dim the lights. But perhaps some things are better unanswered.

This one was based on an older painting of mine which was done by hand. I wanted to recreate it digitally, while trying to keep it very lose, two-dimentional and childish.

This was from a very fast and furious session of badminton, that I played in Suzhou-China. I was searching on the internet for players in the area who have access to a court, so that I can have some excercise after work, and all I got was a group of Malaysian players. They kindly invited me to meet them. This country harvests probably the best players in the world. There were shuttlecocks practically exploding in the air during the games we played due to the force they were hit with, and sometimes it was impossible for the naked eye to detect how they got from one position to another. It was all a blur. And I was in soooo much pain.

From my late afternoon/evening walks in the woods. No matter how carefully I walk, I always scare them away. Some of them are practically flying through the air - amazingly fast. And their ears always glowing in the last rays of the sun.

This was done digitally with a Japanese paint tool called SAI. I wanted to try out some of the default textures in this programme, just for fun.
